The Special General Meeting will take place today at 2030h. The venue is the barn at the Victoria PH, 1 Ickleford Road, Hitchin. SG5 1TJ.
There will be a pre-ride heading out from the Rugby Club, Old Hale Way at around 1900h, led by Nick Hickman. This will be a ROAD ride.

Interclub 15 - Results 23 June 2013
Andrew Herbert was the highest place Nomad in the Bedfordshire Road CC hosted, Interclub 15 time trial which took place earlier today (Sunday).
A bumper field of 58 competitors drawn from CC Ashwell, Icknield RC and Beds Road CC pitted their time trialling wits against one of the strongest Nomads teams to have been fielded for quite some time.
The Cardington to Shefford course featured a couple of particularly steep climbs (up to one in ten gradient in places) and saw many riders face blustery and gusting winds from the west. Ben Wilson and Simon Doyle managed to ride sub-37 minutes for the 15 miles.
Nick Hickman, Mike Webb, Warren Richards, Gavin Ashfield and Nick Senechal managed to dip under the 40 minute mark. Richards and Ashfield are showing great promise in what is still their rookie season in the discipline. Leanne Cutler proved that girl power is on the up with a fifth place in the ladies' competition.

Irene "Rene" Stacey
We were informed of the loss of Rene Stacey last week by Rene's grandson and former Nomad, Brian McCusker.
"Rene" was a founder member of the Hitchin Nomads CC and her death, at the age of 96, follows a short illness.
Our thoughts are best wishes are with Rene's family at this sad time.
Rene's funeral will be taking place at the Harwood Park Crematorium at 3.30 on 3rd July and then afterwards at the central methodist chuch in Letchworth. All are welcome.
There is a just giving page in Irene's memory and there will be the opportunity to donate on the day.

thirty years ago. The club held a regular social night at the Settlement
in Letchworth on a Monday evening. As a schoolboy of only modest years

Briercliffe 10 18/06/2013 - Evening Series Round 9 - Report
The long forgotten sensation that is "summer" returned for Round 9 of the 2013 Briercliffe 10 series, which witnessed overcast but warm and still conditions. It promised to be a good evening for racing and 18 riders came out to try their luck against the clock.
Ryan Witchell continued to impress and clocked the fastest time of the evening with a 23:31, which is his best around the challenging Briercliffe 10 course.

Arrangements for the funeral of Clive Collins - 25th June 2013
The funeral for our friend and club mate, Clive Collins, will take place on Tuesday 25th June, 2013. Clive's family have asked that the following information be relayed to those who knew him.
- Assemble at 1:30pm at 15 Goldon, Letchworth SG6 2LY. - n.b. There is limited parking at Goldon, so if you are driving you may wish to park at St Paul's Church or at Hall's Green.
- Church Service 2:00pm at St Paul's Church, 179 Pixmore Way, Letchworth SG6 1QT.
- After the service the family will proceed alone to Stevenage crematorium for a private service.
- Mourners should therefore make their way via Weston to the Rising Sun, Hall's Green SG4 7DR (about 4 miles away) to arrive at about 3:30pm.
There will be a collection for charity which will probably be divided
between the British Heart Foundation and a cycling charity.
If you have any personal recollections or
anecdotes involving Clive please write them out along with any pictures you
have as there will be a memory board at the Rising Sun to which they can be
attached.

As a club we were informed of the sad news of the death of our dearly loved and respected brother in cycling, Clive Collins last Friday (7th June 2013).
Clive had a massively positive influence on all who knew him and he was a mainstay of the Hitchin Nomads CC for many, many years. Our thoughts and love are with Clive's wife Ann and his family at this difficult time.

Race Report - Beds Road CC Open 10 mile time trial - 08/06/2013
Four Nomads took part in the Beds Road CC event on Saturday, 8th June 2013. Andy Herbert was quickest once again. The banana-fuelled rocket recorded a time of 22.49. Simon Doyle was next quickest with a time of 23.41.
Nick Hickman PB'd for the distance with an excellent 24.12. Mike Webb brought the team home with a solid 25.31.

Briercliffe 10 04/06/2013 - Evening Series Round 8 - Report
Round 8 of the 2013 Briercliffe 10 series saw riders compete in clear and almost sunny conditions but a challenging wind from the northern climes dented many riders' prospects as they plotted their way along the "Growers" section of the course. Gavin Ashfield and Ryan Witchell posted impressive times given the conditions.

Hitchin Nomads CC Open 25 F14/12 Results - 01 June 2013
The Hitchin Nomads CC Open 25 was once again hosted on the F14/25 course around Guilden Morden. The event was well attended with some very fast riders choosing to ride ahead of next weekend's National 25 including last year's HNCC Open 25 winner Michael Hutchinson.
Hutchinson repeated his success of 2012 this year riding a sub-50 minute time of 49:55 to win the Men's competition.
Ashley Cox of CC Luton continues a rich vein of form to take second place ahead of Jonathan Parker of PMR@Toachin House who rounded off the top three spots.
Congratulations also to Michelle Arthurs of Redhill CC who won the Ladies' competition.
